Our Classes
Our Classes are split into two different levels of intensity to help you decide what class your body and brain needs! Also noted is what clothing may be needed.
Pole Dance
Intensity - High - Skin contact with pole will be needed.
Pole class is where we teach the art of pole dancing. Each class will contain spins, flow sequences and tricks relevant to each members ability. It is for anyone looking for an exciting way to train and connect with their body whilst learning to move with and on the pole. Participants can expect to develop strength and confidence through attending classes and always come away from class on a high.
Beginners Pole Class is the best place to start if you are completely new - Tuesdays 7pm.
Improvers Pole Class is great if you’ve done a few classes and you would like a new challenge - Wednesdays 6pm.
All other pole classes are mixed level and options will be given depending on your ability on the day.
Move Strong
Intensity - High - No Skin Contact needed.
Get Fit and Fly is Perths only Female led private gym. Our Move Strong sessions takes inspiration from other movement styles we admire such as strongman and olympic lifting alongside other big lifts such as squat, bench and deadlifts. Our goal is to empower our members to learn to lift heavy, move strong and find their confidence along the way.. Participants can expect assistance in becoming strong as heck and finding their power as well as becoming confident in their lifting technique and bodyweight exercises. We meet all members where they are to guide you safely through your training.
Strong + Flexy
Intensity - Low - No Skin Contact Needed.
Strong and Flexy is a flexibility class which utilises a variety of the most current methods to develop flexibility. It focuses on optimum joint range for the individual and building useful ability around the joints. This class is for anyone who wants to move better in general or improve their flexibility for pole dancing specifically. Participants can expect to gain an understanding of flexibility and mobility as a tool within their own bodies.
Intrinsic Heels
Intensity - High - Skin contact with pole may be needed. Knee Pads useful.
Intrinsic Heels is a class which utilises pole and floor work whilst wearing heels. Safe technique is learnt through a mix of choreography and tricks. It is for anyone who wants to learn about how to dance in heels on and around the pole. It is preferable to have attended 2-3 pole classes before attending heels class. Participants can expect to develop their heels technique and explore what dancing in heels means to them.
Heels Tricks
Intensity - High - Skin Contact Needed for tricks.
A chance to try out the weeks tricks in your heels. Put it together into some flow, perfect your lines, get some good pics. The class plan will be the same as the other pole dance classes that week but we will have a bit more freedom to play around with heels on. It is possible to take this class without heels also.
Pole Flow
Intensity - Low - Skin Contact Will Not Be Needed - Knee Pads May be Useful.
The class will start with breathe work and a chance to slow down followed by some dance technique. This class will focus on low pole and floor work. Movement will be taught as short sequences and used a vessel to connect with your own movement abilities on the day. We will work with music and low light to create a relaxed atmosphere to move in and enjoy. Think floor work, leg swings and gooey transitions. This class is best with layers to slide on the floor. Knee pads may be useful. Suitable for all levels.
Yoga
Intensity - Low - Skin Contact Will Not Be Needed - Please Bring a Mat
Carina has been teaching yoga for 10 years and practicing for over 20. She most enjoys teaching slow flow dynamic classes with a strong focus on increasing propreoception and building a stronger dialogue between mind and body. Her classes are inspired by nature, neuroscience, exploration and play. Carina worked for many years with The Life Centre /Yogacampus in London where she had the opportunity to train with incredible teachers in lots of different schools of Yoga and experience the benefits of consistent practice and community. When not teaching you will find her plunging into icey waters, foraging in the woods, making films, writing or creating fragrances through her wee company Smelly Trees. Carina lives on a farm in Newburgh with her husband and black Labrador Ramsay.
Pilates
Intensity - Low - Skin Contact Will Not Be Needed - Please bring a Mat
This class will incorporate classical Pilates exercises with modern rehab to build strength and mobility. There is a big focus on core training and spine mobility so you might notice improved posture, and Pilates can help with building a more resilient body to compliment other training and rehab from injury. Although challenging at times (think holidng a plank), this class is taugh slowly and mindfullly.
Pole Silks
Intensity - Low to High - Skin Contact Will be Needed - These Classes Run Once a Month
Pole silks is a stunning addition to your repertoire allowing you to perform beautiful shapes and flowy combos.
Memberships can be used for these sessions
It’s can also help you unlock those nemesis moves you’ve been struggling with by literally supporting you in your practice. It’s a useful cross training method to practice pole with a little extra help. Movements that polers often find difficult like inverting, are unlocked with silks.
In this workshop you will
- Explore how silks can be used to condition and cross train for pole.
- Go upside down - even if you can’t invert on a normal pole.
- Learn a stunning spinny flow. You’ll feel like you’re flying!
- Pull some beautiful shapes and strong combos with the added spice of silks!
Zara’s silks classes are suitable for polers of any ability and experience. There is NO weight limit. Zara will brief you at the beginning of the class on how to best stay safe and get the most out of your workshop.
Students will want to wear pole wear that allows for griping the pole with their legs. You may wish to add T-shirt with short sleeves to protect your arm pits and waist from the silks.
Open Training
Intensity - varied - This session counts as a Pole Class
A chance to work on your own style, put together a routine or train tricks you’ve learnt in class. It is self lead training on the pole.
Open training is for those who have pole experience already.
